Oil mist extraction
with extraction systems from WATRON
Oil mist extractors are crucial for the effective filtration of oil mist and aerosols from the ambient air. These particles are created by the atomisation or condensation of cooling lubricants, especially when using fast-rotating tools such as in grinding, milling or turning. By using our WATRON oil mist extractorss, you can remove hazardous aerosols and contaminants from the air at an early stage. This not only improves air quality, but also protects the health of your employees and promotes a safe working environment.
Advantages of oil mist extractors
- Improved air quality
- Health benefits
- Less wear and tear
- Fewer pollutant emissions
- Oil recovery
- Customised solutions for your company
- Regular maintenance
- Tested filters
This is how oil mist extractors work for air filtration
The air polluted with aerosols is sucked in by a powerful extraction system. In the oil mist extractor, a series of different filters ensures that the air can be re-released as cleanly as possible. First, a pre-filter traps coarser dust particles so that the finer filters do not become clogged too quickly.
Various filters for oil mist extractors
HEPA-Filter: HEPA filter: After the coarse pre-filter, most oil mist extractors have a HEPA paper filter, which stands for ‘High Efficiency Particulate Air’ – a ‘highly efficient particulate filter’. These filters allow smaller particles to be filtered out of the air, including those smaller than 1 µm in diameter.
Centrifugal force: Some models have centrifuges that separate air and wet particles. The oil mist extractor spins the coarser particles with great force until they are completely separated from the air, allowing the separated oil to be reused. Efficient motors ensure that the centrifuge operates at a low power consumption.
Electrostatic filter: In an oil mist extractor with an electrostatic filter, the polluted air is ionised so that the charged particles adhere to the filter plates. Unlike centrifugal models, electrostatic filters are quieter because there is no vibration. The filter plates can be easily cleaned and reused, reducing costs and waste.
